JW Marriott Hotel in the Pearl River Delta of Beijing is located in a unique geographical position, overlooking Tiananmen Gate, the Forbidden City, Xidan and other famous gardens and prosperous commercial areas. The hotel is located in the northern downtown, but the artist hopes to integrate “Jiangnan” into the hotel.
In order to highlight the concept of art creation, all works of art are black and white. When the works of art are put into the hotel space, the effect is very bad, and conflicts and opposites are everywhere. The color of the hotel is very heavy. The artwork put in looks light and floating. The creation content of Jiangnan theme is quiet and poetic, but it can’t be integrated into the conservative style of this high-end business hotel.

At the same time, according to the consideration of each artwork creation, set the light: the content of the entity, the light illuminates the part, leaving more dark areas and the natural connection of the darkened space. However, a small amount of light is also added in the dark to enhance the three-dimensional sense of the object and make it more vivid; the content of the plane and light evenly illuminate all, making the black-and-white relationship of the artwork more pure, and also can be well integrated into the background white wall.
It will be a very interesting experience if you enjoy all the works of art in the hotel, because you will always have the feeling of repeatedly going in and out between reality and dream. Before arriving at the space where the works of art are located, you will walk through the real hotel. When you arrive at the location of the works of art, you will be immediately brought into the “Jiangnan” scene created by light and shadow. Here, the way we think about “hidden light” is very accurate.
